Course Overview
This course will allow you to safely operate a ride on roller plant machine to the standard required by law. Once you have completed the course you will be given an official competency card. This proves you are competent to operate a ride on roller. It is important to make sure all plant operators have proof they are competent to operate machinery. If an accident occurs, without proof of competency, the company or machine operator could face the possibility of prison.
CPCS and NPORS
If you work on major construction sites you may be asked for your qualification to be registered through the CPCS or NPORS qualifications; both routes will give you the trained operator red card to work on site. Course Content
• Operate the machine for all normal tasks
• Decide whether a particular load is safe to lift
• Carry out routine servicing procedures and maintenance as necessary, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
• Know how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved
• Understand the effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability
• Know how to load, store and transport representative materials
• Understand the basic construction of pallets
Delivery And Outcome
Depending on your level of experience the ride on roller course can be delivered in as little as one day. Once the course has successfully been completed you will be given a competency certificate or alternatively be registered with the awarding body CPCS or NPORS for your qualification.
